TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A helicopter and K9 unit were called in to help law enforcement officers track down a man on the run Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called around 2:30 p.m. to the area of SW 65th and Crestwood Drive, in south Topeka's Montara neighborhood.

Cpl. Roberts with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office tells 13 News that the U.S. Marshals Office was trying to serve a warrant when the man
fled.

The Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter and K9 units were called to provide help in the search.

A description of the man is not being released to 13 News, but the Topeka Capital-Journal reports authorities were looking for 34-year-old David Epling, who is wanted on a probation violation.

Records show he was convicted in August 2012 of aggravated battery.
