TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Anceo Stovall will face separate trials on murder and robbery charges.

Before this week's ruling, Stovall was going to be tried together for both cases starting Thursday.

Instead, that case will focus only on allegations Stovall robbed Bayate Covington.

Covington is a co-defendant in what prosecutors say was a botched holdup that ended with the murder of Natalie Gibson and shooting of Lori Allison.

Stovall's trial on those charges will start May 20.

A trial last summer ended with a hung jury on counts related to Gibson's murder.
