The founder and CEO of a Topeka-based tax service company has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.
Miichael Cooper was sentenced Tuesday for practices that brought in $75 million before a state judge shut down Renaissance, The Tax People.
Cooper was convicted on more than 70 counts including mail & wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy.
He is also been sentenced to restitution of $10 million to the IRS and forfeiture money judgement of $75 million
