Topeka (WIBW) - A preliminary hearing has been set for a Topeka man accused of trying to hire a person to kill someone.
20-year old Joel Phoenix was arrested last month on a charge of criminal solicitation to commit first degree murder.
Investigators spent two days following leads and conducting surveillance. They say the potential victim was not in danger and was unaware of the threat.
Phoenix' preliminary hearing is set for May 13th.
