Ft. Riley (WIBW) - Ft. Riley Police are investigating the discovery of a body inside a submerged vehicle on the post.

Ft. Riley officials say a fisherman notified police Thursday morning that he discovered what he believed was an automobile submered in Moon Lake.

The Ft. Riley Directorate of Emergency Services called for a tow truck and requested aide from the Saline County Sheriff's Office, which sent a dive team to the lake Thursday afternoon.

In the process of getting the vehicle out of the lake, authorities discovered the body of a deceased person inside the vehicle.

The Ft. Riley Police Dept. and Criminal Investigations Division are investigating. They're not releasing any information on identifying the body.

Moon Lake is closed until further notice and authorities have restricted all access to the lake to protect what they say could be a potential crime scene.
