Police Make Second Arrest In Murder Case

Topeka (WIBW) - Topeka Police made a second arrest Wednesday in a fatal drive-by shooting.

Police say they arrested a 17-year old male on charges of first degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm at a dwelling or vehicle, and criminal damage to property. TPD refused to release the suspect's name.

21-year old Kenneth Lee Dugan III was formally charged Tuesday with the same counts.

The pair is accused in the April 3 killing of Forrest "Duke" Sanders in the 2000 block of SE Massachusetts.

A check of court records shows that Dugan has drug charges pending and previously served time for fleeing police. A new drug also was filed this month. The District Attorney's office says it stems from a search warrant executed during the murder investigation.
