Man Arrested In Connection With Two Overnight Burglaries

TOPEKA, Kansas - At about 11:30 p.m. on September 28, an officer of the Topeka Police Department responded to a break-in at the Northland BP Amoco at 3000 N. Topeka.

Later during this same shift, just before 5 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Pepe and Chela's restaurant at 1001 SW Tyler.

Following up on these break-ins, officers located and eventually arrested a suspect for both incidents. Eric Swopes, of Topeka, was taken into custody and booked-in to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for charges related to both burglaries.
