Cop Arrested on Drug Charges in Atchison

ATCHISON -- Acting on a request from the Atchison Police Department, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested 26 year old Kyle A. Zumbrunn for the sale of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school and using a telephonic device to facilitate a drug transaction.

Zumbrunn, a police officer with the Westin, Missouri Police Department, was arrested after he sold a suspected controlled substance to an undercover KBI agent. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Atchison Police Department assisted the KBI during the investigation. Zumbrunn will make his first appearance on the charges today.

The investigation is on-going and no other information is available.
