Topeka (WIBW) - A man who'd been on the run from authorities for more than five months is in custody.

Topeka Police arrested 19-year old Javier Martinez just after 2 am Monday at 3100 SE Girard.

Martinez was wanted on multiple felony warrants since April.

Police say information they received about a week ago led them to a South Topeka address where Martinez was believed to be staying. They say officers set up a perimeter, then knocked at the door.

Police say Martinez was in the home and initially tried to flee by climbing out a bedroom windown. They say once he saw the officers outside, he climbed back through the window and was arrested inside the home without incident.

Martinez was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on 3 counts of Felony Obstruction, 4 county felony warrants, and 1 aggravated robbery that took place at The Pizza Parlor, located at 1919 NE Seward on February 23, 2009.
