(WIBW) - Special grant funding will help the Kansas Highway Patrol step up its enforcement this holiday weekend to discourage drunk driving.
Among their efforts, troopers will conduct two check lanes in Jefferson County.
The first will be Friday. Troopers will be checking to make sure driver's licenses are valid from 3 to 5 pm at the U.S. Highway 24 and Thompsonville Road junction.
A DUI check point will be held Saturday night starting at 10 pm until 1 am. That will be on Ferguson Road, just north of K-92 Highway.
The special enforcement isfunded by KDOT as part of their "Over the Limit. Under Arrest." campaign.
