TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) - A Topeka woman faces five charges in connection with a hit and run accident that sent a nine year old to the hospital. It happened Wednesday just before 5:30P.M. in the 300 Block of SE Winfield, Topeka.
Topeka Police say Kimberly Johnson, 26, was cited for inattentive driving, failure to provide insurance, leaving the scene of an injury accident, failure to report an accident and failure to give information and rended aid.
She was then released after receiving those citations.
Police say Johnson was driving a vehicle Wednesday night that hit the nine-year-old as he was turning his bike into a neighbor's driveway.
Police say Johnson briefly argued with onlookers then fled the scene. Authorities stopped her a short time later at 10th and Quincy.
The boy was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital with minor cuts and bruises.
