Manhattan Authorities Find Body In Burned-Out Car

Manhattan (WIBW) - Riley County Police say they discovered a person dead inside a burned-out car early Thursday morning.

Authorities were called to a possible fire just after 6 am at 1130 Westport Place. They arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames in front of the address.

Riley County Police say Manhattan Fire Department crews put out the flames. They say officers then approached the vehicle and discovered a body in the vehicle's passenger compartment.

Authorities say they are working to identify the victim. The case remains under investigation.
