Two men are in custody following a late-night car chase. The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office says a sergeant witnessed the occupant of a black Oldsmobile pointing a gun at passengers in another vehicle at 29th and Topeka Blvd., just after 10:30 p.m. last night.
When the sergeant tried to stop the vehicle, it fled south, reaching speeds over 90 miles per hour.
Deputies say one person in the vehicle threw a hand gun into a ditch at 53rd and Topeka before the suspect's vehicle broke down.
The driver, Kentrell Taylor was booked on charges that include fleeing and eluding an officer.
The passenger Joshua Valdivia was arrested on charges including aggravated assault, aggravated weapons violation and being a confirmed gang member.
