KHP Trooper Accused Of Stealing From Towed Vehicle

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper is accused of stealing a GPS system and a toolbox from a truck after arresting its driver.

Clint Epperly faces two counts of theft and one of official misconduct.

Last December, he stopped Eduardo Cruz Bravo, allegedly discovering a large quantity of marijuana in his truck. After the the truck was towed, a deputy reportedly saw Epperly carrying away the GPS system and asked the trooper if that was alright.

Epperly then allegedly offered the deputy the system, allegedly saying if neither of them took it someone higher up the chain would.

A KBI evidence report filled out by Epperly did not mention a GPS system or tools being seized.
