Topeka (WIBW) - A Topeka clinic that provides health care to those who can't afford it has been ripped off.
Topeka's Marian Clinic, 1001 Garfield St., says someone accessed its computer system and took $100,000.
Clinic spokesperson Ruth Maus says the investigation is ongoing, but, to the best of their knowledge, no patient records were compromised.
"We are disheartened that someone has compromised Marian Clinic's computer security," Maus said. "Marian Clinic is partnering with law enforcement and bank officials with a focus on determining the extent of the problem and restitution of funds. In the meantime, Marian Clinic and its professionals will concentrate on caring for our patients in fulfillment of our mission."
