Riley County Police say an officer stopped 19-year-old Tony Lewis in a residential Manhattan area Wednesday because he looked suspicious. The officer noticed Lewis matched the description of the suspect in several recent rapes.
Riley County and Junction City officers, along with military agents investigated and searched Lewis' vehicle and barracks at Fort Riley.
They arrested Lewis Thursday on three counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts rape, two counts aggravated robbery, two counts aggravated sodomy, one count aggravated burglary and one count of criminal threat.
Junction City Police say the current charges are only for the incidents that occurred in Junction City. Other charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Lewis is being held in the Geary County Detention Center awaiting his first court appearance.
