MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Closing arguments are scheduled Thursday in the trial of a Kansas man charged with 79 counts of rape and sodomy over a five-year period on an alleged victim when she was a child.
Prosecutors said Ben Hinchsliff of Manhattan had sexual-related encounters with the girl at least once a month between late 1999 and mid-2005. The 40-year-old Hinchscliff is charged with 68 counts of rape and 11 sodomy charges.
On the witness stand, Hinchsliff denied allegations introduced into evidence that he sexually assaulted the girl, showered with her or bought her revealing lingerie.
The girl is now 19.
Hinchsliff was arrested in September.
