Detectives of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in a burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage case.
On Tuesday May 5, 2009 at about 9:50 pm, deputies were dispatched to Professional Fire Alarm Systems located at 5604 S. Topeka #4. Upon arrival at the business the deputies met with an employee of Professional Fire Alarm Systems.
The employee shut off the alarm and the deputies checked the building for any intruders. No one was found inside the building. Due to past break-ins to the business, a video surveillance system had been installed. Deputies viewed the surveillance video and observed a car drive up in front of the business. The male driver exited the vehicle with a large pair of bolt cutters and breaks out the glass of the front door. The suspect then removes a computer tower, a monitor, and a key board.
The male suspect was described as a possible light skinned black male, 6’01”, 230 to 240 lbs, wearing a Dallas Cowboy jersey with the # 31 on it, blue jean shorts, and white tennis shoes. The vehicle was described as a black Ford 4 door possibly a mid 90’s to 2000 model.
