TOPEKA, Kan. - Around 8:23 Tuesday morning an officer running radar at a school zone around 23rd Terrace & Ashworth, Topeka, stopped a Silver 2005 Suzuki passenger car for speeding.
Police say the driver drove off after the officer made contact.
The officer initiated a pursuit with the vehicle in an area of southwest Topeka near 25th & Wanamaker.
The low speed pursuit weaved through a 10 block area and ended about 10 minutes later in the 2400 Block of SW Pepperwood Circle when the driver ran from the vehicle.
Police say officers found the driver hiding in the bushes of a nearby home. Ryan P. Long, 26, was arrested for Felony eluding, Obstruction, Reckless driving, Suspended & 2 DUI.
