MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) _ A Connecticut manhunt is over.

Authorities say a man suspected of stalking and killing a Wesleyan University student and threatening to kill other students and Jews, is in custody.

A police spokesman says 29-year-old Stephen Morgan was taken into custody in the central Connecticut town of Meriden, about 10 miles from Middletown. That's where 21-year-old Johanna Justin-Jinich was gunned down at a bookstore just off the Wesleyan University campus.

A law enforcement officer in Washington says Morgan turned himself in.

When police confiscated Morgan's car Wednesday they found a journal in which he spelled out a plan to rape and kill Justin-Jinich before going on a campus shooting spree. She came from a Jewish family, and her grandmother was a Holocaust survivor.
