A Riley County jury found a Manhattan doctor guilty of aggravated battery.

46-year old Russell Reitz was charged in connection with an incident at the home of his ex-wife in May 2008. Prosecutors say he punched and tackled David Lehman. The Manhattan Mercury reports the assault caused a cut on the Lehman's head and long-term brain injuries.

Lehman is a K-State business professor. Authorities say he was helping Reitz' ex-wife clean up storm debris at her home when Reitz confronted him.

The jury found Reitz guilty after two days of testimony. He will be sentenced June 29th.

Reitz is a radiation oncologist and son of state senator Roger Reitz.

He is still awaiting trial on a separate domestic battery charge.

Attorney General Steve Six's office prosecuted the case at the request of Riley County Attorney Barry Wilkerson, who cited a conflict of interest.
