A woman accused of driving the wrong way causing a fatal accident will stand trial this summer.

38-year old Evelyn Brooks waived her right for a preliminary hearing Wednesday and entered a not guilty plea on one count of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Topeka Police say Brooks was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-70 near Gage on March 29th. She collided head-on with a car driven by 27-year old Cara Jackson. Jackson was killed.

A jury trial is scheduled for July 15.
