Crooks Steals Surveillance Cam - But It Caught His Picture First

Topeka Police are looking for the man stole a surveillance camera from a Topeka child care center.

Before he took it, the camera caught his picture.

Topeka Police say an worker reported the incident happened around 7a.m. March 14th at First Christian Church Child Care, 1880 Southwest Gage.

Police say the suspect cut the wires to the camera to remove it. The surveillance system took his picture as he did it. It also shows the suspect vehicle, which appears to be a Jeep Cherokee. It appears the suspect got out of the passenger side of the SUV.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 785-234-0007. People can also text tips to 274637 (Crimes), then “TIP128” at the start of the message.
