KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A man has pleaded no contest in the
shooting death of a toddler in her grandparents' Kansas City, Kan.,
home.

Jose Franco entered the plea Monday in Wyandotte County District Court to a charge of criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling. Sentencing was set for March 26.

Franco currently is serving a 10-year sentence for conspiracy to commit criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling. A
count of felony murder against Franco has been dismissed.

Prosecutors said in a news release that the actual shooter was Daniel Perez, who is serving a life sentence for the April 2007 killing of Yelena Guzman.

Prosecutors have said the shooting was an act of revenge directed at Yelena's uncle, who belonged to a rival gang.
