A Topeka man is recovering from surgery for wounds received in an overnight stabbing.
Topeka Police say Kenneth Barsch got in an altercation with 20-year old Mathaniel Soliz and his 22-year old brother Matthew Soliz just after 3 a.m. Friday at the Regency Inn in the 3800 block of South Topeka Boulevard.
Police say the Soliz brothers chased Barsch through the motel complex, catching up to him and stabbing him multiple times. Barsch made it to the motel lobby where the clerk called for assistance.
Police say the suspects were found in a room at the motel. They were booked into the Shawnee Co. Jail on charges of aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.
Barsch was taken to a Topeka hospital. An update on his condition was not available Friday afternoon.
