Inmate Charged in Assault on Shawnee Co. Corrections Officer

25-year old Anthony Tyrone Jackson was charged with attempted first degree murder. Authorities say he pushed a Shawnee Co. Corrections Officer from a second floor balcony at the jail.

An incarcerated Topeka man accused of pushing a Shawnee County Corrections Officer over a jail balcony has been charged with attempted first degree murder.

Officials say 25-year old Anthony Tyrone Jackson pushed Thomas Dorsitt off the second floor balcony January 23rd. Dorsitt had been doing rounds at the time of the incident.

Jackson was transferred to the Shawnee County Law Enforcement Center following the incident.

He could face more than 20 years in prison if convicted.
