Prelim Scheduled for Four Fort Riley Soldiers

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. - Four Fort Riley soldiers charged in burglary off post will be back in court February 19th.

A judge Tuesday set that date for a preliminary hearing for Privates Joshua McGatha, Romale Pope, Jeremy Harris and Teandre Thompkins on charges of aggravated burglary, kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft and criminal threats.

The charges stem from an incident at a Junction City home January 9, 2009.

A Fort Riley spokesman said the soldiers allegedly broke into the home and held a family at knife-point. One of the victims called police using a cell phone.

The soldiers were arrested without inciden as they tried to leave the house.
