TOPEKA - Rain didn't wash out the community's commitment to taking a stand against violence Wednesday.
The Topeka High School drum line led more than 100 people through the downtown Topeka streets for the YWCA's annual march against violence.
Volunteer coordinator for the event Monica Brede said the goal is for people to see that violent crime and domestic violence are community problems. She says the visual display also lets victims know that the community is there to support them.
This was the 14th year the YWCA has held the event.
A schedule of other Week Without Violence events can be found at the YWCA's web site.
