Nearly 50 candidates tried out Friday to become one of Topeka's finest.
There are quite a few requirements, clean background, must be 20 and a half years old and must have the determination to keep going especially during the physical agility test.
Stairs, cones and running were all part of the Topeka police departments physical agility exercise where many candidates put their goal of being a police officer to the test.
Aside from the physical test there's also a written exam covering reading, writing and arithmetic.
The police department says the most important thing they're looking for is a hard working person.
