Authorities Find Vehicle Suspected of Hitting and Killing Woman

ST. GEORGE, Kan. - Thanks to tips from the public, authorities believe they've found the vehicle and driver involved in a hit and run accident.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Highway Patrol, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at 12570 Elm Slough Road, St. George, on Monday, Aug. 4.

They found a 1985 blue Volvo on the property, and it was seized by law enforcement. The volvo, registered to Russell D. Hodges of 12570 Elm Slough Road, is suspected to be the vehicle involved in a hit and run accident Saturday. Darla Dugan, 54, was killed while crossing Military Trail Road just west of St. George.

The Sheriff's Office continues to ask the public for help in this matter. Anyone with further information is asked to call the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office at (785) 457-3353 or the Kansas Highway Patrol at (785) 493-0361.
