Man Caught in Creek After Running From Police

TOPEKA, Kan. - Topeka Police used pepper spray and a K-9 unit to catch a Tecumseh man in a Topeka creek after he tried to run from them.

Authorities say they caught up with Anthony Wilson, 24, just after 7:00 Sunday night in Shunga Creek in Topeka.

Police believed Wilson had felony warrants for his arrest, and was also involved in a prior domestic disturbance at a skate park in the 2300 block of SW Washburn.

Officers say when Wilson saw them, he ran through the woods and into the creek.

Wilson refused officer's commands to take his hands out of the water. That's when police used a K-9 unit and pepper spray to take him into custody. He was transported to a local hospital.

Upon release, authorities booked Wilson on charges of obstruction, two felony warrants and a misdemeanor warrant.
