TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Police are working two separate unrelated home invasions, and the shooting of a possible suspect Tuesday morning.
TPD was called to the first home invasion at 1:23 a.m. near SE Colorado Avenue on 26th Street. The victim told police that three black males forced their way into her home and robbed her at gunpoint. Detectives are following up on that case at this time.
A second home invasion was reported at 2:31 a.m. at a home in the 1300 block of S. Kansas Avenue. The victim in that case told police three white males forced their way into his home and robbed him at knife point. That victim pulled a gun on the suspects and shot at them while they were inside his home.
Possibly related to the second home invasion, a shooting victim arrived at a local hospital at 2:34 a.m. with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Police say they took three subjects into custody there and transported them to the Law Enforcement Center to be interviewed by detectives. They are considered persons of interest in the home invasion on Kansas Avenue.
Anyone with information on either home invasion should contact Detectives at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
