MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo. (AP) _ Police say a southern Missouri woman is critically wounded and two of her relatives are dead after being shot by her estranged husband before he turned the gun on himself.
Police said they went to the Mountain Grove home of 26-year-old April Mead yesterday afternoon after receiving a call saying three people were dead and one was injured.
When they arrived, police found April Mead critically injured with a gunshot wound to the head. Her 46-year-old mother Ellan Mae Loman and a 10-year-old relative were found shot to death, as was Mead's 37-year-old estranged husband Harold Wayne Mead Jr.
The girl's name and relationship to the other victims was not released.
April Mead was hospitalized in Springfield.
Police believe Harold Mead entered the home last evening and opened fire with a .22-caliber rifle. Another man in the home suffered superficial wounds.
