Planned Parenthood Attys. Hopes to Delay Trial

OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ Attorneys for a Planned Parenthood clinic are hoping to persuade a Johnson County judge to put off its criminal trial.

District Attorney Phill Kline has filed 107 charges against Comprehensive Health of Overland Park. He alleges that the clinic falsified documents and performed illegal late-term abortions. The clinic denies all wrongdoing.

Judge Stephen Tatum is having a hearing Wednesday morning.

Last year the clinic filed a lawsuit against Kline with the Kansas Supreme Court. The clinic is hoping to force Kline to return edited medical records from 29 patients' files.

The high court is set to hear arguments in that case on June 12, but a preliminary hearing in the criminal case in Johnson County District Court is slated for next week.
