Pill Mill Doctor Being Released

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas physician accused of operating a
"pill mill" that resulted in the deaths of several people is being let out of jail.

A federal magistrate judge says he will hold a hearing at 2 pm Thursday on freeing Dr. Stephen Schneider on a $325,000 appearance
bond and an agreement to forfeit property valued at more than $2 million.

Schneider also must agree to electronic monitoring.

A decision on whether Schneider's wife, Linda, is released on bond is pending the results of a psychological examination.

The couple was indicted four months ago with illegally prescribing medication that led to the deaths of 56 patients.
