Gunfire Leads to Salina's Second Murder

SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ Police are investigating an early-morning homicide in Salina, the city's second of the year.

Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield said a report of gunfire at about 2 a.m. Wednesday led officers to the crime scene. There they found a man face-down in the street, dead of an apparent shooting.

The victim's name has not been released.

The killing is the second in Salina since January, when a 56-year-old woman was found slain in her home.
