OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ The father of a Gardner teenager who died during a fight with another youth is charged with threatening nine people connected to the case.
Frank Scott DeRemus was jailed in $505,000 bond Monday in Johnson County on threat charges and a disorderly conduct count. He was arrested Friday, and must undergo a mental exam before his bond
can be paid.
Among those DeRemus is accused of threatening is Dustin Howard, the 16-year-old his son was fighting with. He's also charged with threatening District Judge Gerald Elliott, who involved in the case.
Last week another judge ruled that Howard would be tried as a juvenile for involuntary manslaughter charge.
DeRemus' son, Dakota DeRemus, collapsed and died outside his home in February after he and Howard engaged in a fight the two had
set up beforehand.
