KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - A Kansas City Royals parking lot employee is battling for her life after she was shot Friday afternoon.
Police are investigating the shooting that took place in the parking lot of the Truman Sports Complex at 3:23 p.m. The scene appears to be the road that runs between Kauffman and Arrowhead stadiums. A golf cart was part of the crime scene.
A source on the scene said a man drove up to the female parking lot attendant and shot her in the abdomen before turning the gun on himself. The two people, both in their 40s, seemed to know each other.
The woman is in critical condition in an area hospital. She was talking when she was rushed by ambulance from the scene.
The Royals are scheduled to play the Anaheim Angels Friday at 7:10 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium. The game is still on and officials reassured fans that they shouldn't be worried about safety when coming to the game.
