A motorcyclist who led authorities on a high-speed chase was behind bars Wednesday night.
Topeka Police officers tried to pull him over around 6 pm Wednesday when they spotted him speeding and popping wheelies on I-470 near Burlingame. They say he took off south on Highway 75, exiting to head south on South Topeka Boulevard, at times reaching speeds up to a hundred miles per hour.
Patrol cars backed off, but the Topeka Police helicopter kept following south, until the suspect turned around and started heading back toward town. Shawnee County Sheriff's deputies got him to stop and took him into custody around 125th and South Topeka.
He was booked into the Shawnee County jail on numerous charges.
