Topeka police nabbed an Ohio man in the woods off of SW Wanamaker early Friday morning after he lead them on a high speed chase through town on foot.
Aaron D. Logan was taken to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and charged with a DUI , Fleeing and attempting to elude, and Speeding; among other charges.
The city's Police helicopter spotted Logan's Grand AM heading south on Wanamaker near 21st Street. The helicopter tracked the Pontiac all the way to 61st Street at which point Logan turned around.
Another officer picked up the pursuit in the 5700 block of Wanamaker and pursued him for two blocks, when Logan pulled into a back yard and got out, fleeing into a heavily wooded area.
Aided by the helicopter, officers were able to follow Logan through the woods and over a creek before finally capturing him.
