WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A Wichita woman faces second-degree murder charges following the death of her 3-month-old son in a hospital pediatric ward.
Police say Megan Mott, 23, of Great Bend is being held on $100,000 bond.
Her son died early Friday at Wesley Medical Center from skull fractures and other injuries.
Police said the boy was found in critical condition while being treated for a respiratory infection. They say the mother was the only person who had been in the hospital room before he was found.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 20.
Police say the boy's father was not involved in the incident, but he was arrested on unrelated charges from another county.
