Topeka police are searching for a man they say robbed a person at a Wal-Mart on 37th Street early Thursday morning and tried again a few hours later at the Wal-Mart on Rochester.
The suspect is described as a black man in his twenties or thirties, with a longer, graying goatee and a shorter Afro. Police say he had a small black handgun during at least one of the robberies.
The robbery occurred at the superstore at 1301 SW 37th Street just after midnight when the suspect demanded a purse off a person in the parking lot. He then fled in a light-colored four-door SUV.
Around a half past three, police believe the same person attempted to rob another person at the Wal-Mart on NW Rochester.
Police are also looking for a younger, white man in connection with a robbery at the Kwik Shop at 102. SW 37th Street.
The incident happened about 3:20 a.m. and the suspect was described as wearing a green bandana and a spotted hoodie at the time. He left the scene, heading West on foot.
