Man Sentenced for Stabbing, Awaits Trial for Second Assault

A Topeka man accused of brutally raping and beating a disabled Topeka woman will go to prison for a previous case of battery.

Errol Sutton was sentenced Thursday to 17 months in prison with no post-release supervision for stabbing a woman.

While on parole for that crime, Sutton was arrested and charged with breaking into the home of a Topeka woman in May 2007, and attacking her.

He was arrested two months later in Springfield, Illinois.
