School Board Member Accused of Threatening Saline Co. Official

SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ A Southeast of Saline school board member faces two separate trials this spring on charges of threatening to shoot a county official and "do a Columbine'' at a school.

District Judge Daniel Hebert ordered 43-year-old Gary Olson to stand trial May 8 on a felony charge of criminal threat in the case involving the county official. He set the trial date Wednesday after ruling there was probable cause that a crime was committed.

He also ordered Olson to stand trial April 9 on aggravated criminal threat and other charges in the school threat case.

Olson remains a member of the school board But he is barred from participating in board meetings and other school district events as a condition of his bond.
