Woman Escapes Bombing, Found Slain

LANSING, Kan. (AP) _ Authorities in are looking for suspects in the fatal shooting of a woman who was in a Leavenworth house that had a bomb planted under it earlier this month.

Police said the 20-year-old woman was found shot to death Tuesday night at a mobile home park in Lansing, 5 miles south of Leavenworth. Witnesses told police that someone kicked in the door and started shooting.

On Jan. 11, Leavenworth police said an explosive device was planted under a house with two sisters inside. The women, one of them pregnant, were able to escape an explosion and fire unharmed.

Police said the bomb was placed in a crawl space under the house.

No arrests have been made.
