Lawyers Working to Limit Testimony in 1974 Murder

OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ Attorneys for John Henry Horton want testimony barred in his second murder trial in the 1974 slaying of a 13-year-old girl in Johnson County.

The defense also contends that a search of the trunk in Horton's car was illegal.

The question of whether a key state witness' testimony should be allowed is coming up again in a prosecution motion.

The 60-year-old Horton allegedly lured the girl into the school where he worked as a janitor. Prosecutors say he subdued her with chloroform so he could sexually assault her and killed her with an overdose.
