Officers searching for who broke into a Topeka home Sunday night simply had to wait for James D. Edwards to drop in... through the ceiling, that is.
Responding to a burglar alarm in the 1100 block of SW Tyler, officers discovered a broken window. They proceeded to search the building, all the while Edwards was hiding in the ceiling.
Eventually, the 22 year-old lost his balance and came crashing through, injuring himself in the drop. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for the wounds, and afterwards to the Shawnee County department of Corrections.
He was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal damage.
Officers are still investigating and ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
