Good Samaritan's Guns, Truck Stolen

SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ If a vagrant can't bite the hand of the man who feeds him, why not steal his truck?

A 21-year-old man who was taken in by a central Kansas man and accepted his help for a week is believed to have stolen the Good Samaritan's truck and three guns.

Saline County deputies say 63-year-old Donald Donovon picked up the man on Interstate 70 around Christmas and took him in. Now the man in need is gone, apparently with Donovan's Ford Ranger and three firearms valued at $1,000.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said the man helped Donovan install a wood floor in his house and went hunting with him during the week he stayed at his home. After all that, Donovan woke up Wednesday to find his guest, his truck and his guns gone.
