New Trial for Cherokee Co. Atty.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A federal judge has set an April 8th trial date for former Cherokee County Attorney Michael Goodrich.

Goodrich is charged with accepting money and favors from a strip club in exchange for legal favors.

U.S. District Judge Monti Belot approved the new date after Goodrich's lawyer, Michael Hepperly, requested an additional 60 days to prepare for trial.

Goodrich faces federal charges of extortion, wire fraud and intimidating a witness.

He resigned as county attorney effective December 1st.

Trial was originally set for November 27th and was changed to February 5th.
