A Fort Riley female soldier, accused of killing another soldier, was in court Wednesday.

Witnesses testified and evidence was presented in the case of Latoya Pitts. Authorities say Specialist Pitts stabbed her ex boyfriend, 24 yr old Private First Clas Antonio Ortiz Jr. with a knife outside Silverado's Saloon, October 20, 2007. She was taken to the Dickenson County jail, there is no jail on Ft. Riley, to await the military article 32 investigation.

18 witnesses testified Wednesday.

Specialist Pitts is presently charged with murder, but that may change once the investigating officer forwards his recommendation of the case to the convening officer and then to Fort Riley's General. It will then be determined whether Pitts will stand trial.
